A tour of the Stud Farm introduces many legends of Irish and world racing & tells the story of the Irish Thoroughbred from birth to retirement. Get up close and personal to these magnificent animals and depending on the time of year you visit you may also get an opportunity to meet a newborn foal! On the grounds of the Stud are the historic Japanese Gardens & wild St Fiachra’s Garden, providing acres of fun for the little ones. The Stud is a great day out for the whole family also offering a playground, fairy trail and gift shop.
For the more adventurous explorer a day to Castlecomer Discovery Park is a must! There is so much to discover including scaling treetops, axe-throwing, zip lines, bouncing nets and archery. Certain activities have age restrictions but there is something for every age. For the younger member of the family, visit the Timber Tumbles playground, the Elf & Fairy Village or the junior Woodland Course. With most of the activates taking place in the outdoors be sure to dress appropriately!
Who doesn’t love a boat trip! A ferry ride across the Atlantic ocean is sure to excite the young members of the family. The Aran Islands are one of Irelands most spectacular attractions located off the west Clare Coast and the Cliffs of Moher. The Islands are accessible by boat from both Doolin Pier in Co. Clare and Rossaveal in Co. Galway and are best explored on foot or bicycle which is easily rented on the island. There are many cycling routes to explore on the island of Ireland.
