Glin Castle, home for 800 years of the FitzGerald family, hereditary Knights of Glin, stands proudly in the middle of its 400-acre wooded demesne on the banks of the Shannon. The toy-fortress like quality is echoed by three sets of battlemented Gothic folly lodges.
The Castle comprises 15+ enchanting ensuite bedrooms, grand hall, dining room, library, elegant light drawing-room, and cozy TV sitting room, all with open fires. The professional catering kitchen can provide for up to 85 people.
The exceptional gardens behind the house have been created over generations. They include formal lawns, winding gravel walks bordered by ancient Killarney oaks, a picturesque winding stream, meadow with spring bulbs and a productive kitchen garden with herbaceous borders.
